but I think he might be good enough…

Manuel Fernandes is a defensive midfielder and, alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, Ricardo Quaresma and João Moutinho, is being recognized as the future of the Portuguese national team, with Cristiano Ronaldo the most proven player among the four.

Considered one of the hottest prospects in Europe, let alone Portugal, Manuel Fernandes is a midfielder with seemingly everything. His pace, ball skills and technical ability are as effective going backwards as they are attacking.

Manuel Fernandes’ strong positional sense and tight marking are so impressive that Chelsea manager José Mourinho is known to be a keen admirer. Mourinho went as far as to compare his young compatriot to Claude Makélélé, stating that the Portuguese midfielder was better than the Frenchman at the same age. In the wake of these comparisons, many Benfica and Portugal fans have nicknamed Fernandes Manelelê.

Another year another mash-up...

This time Nas with the Reverend Al Green.

It actually manages to make 'Oochie Wally' quite listenable, which is no mean feat.

You can get the tracks individually here or you can download the job lot here or you can get a taste of it over at the Myspace page.

It's made by DJ Swindle who also brought us 80 Cent and Bobb Deep and Frank Lyon, who didn't make those other mash-ups but must have done something...

If you like it buy it...

Libretto is another member of the crew and his album is really teeming with guest spots and stand-ins by both the Lifesavas as well as by Sly the Brown Hornet, another cat in the crew. You could almost call it a crew album. (Check the credits on discogs to see what I mean.) So while Jumbo and them add

Lifesavas - Spirit in Stone (2003)

Hailing from Portland, Oregon are the Quannum family’s northernmost representatives, namely Vursatyl, Jumbo the Garbageman and DJ Rev. Shines. The crew started out as a duo with Vursatyl as the MC and Jumbo as his DJ, often doing last-minute gigs, which is where their name comes from. Later, after Jumbo put another MC [...]
